As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
SPECIAL RUBBISH
Includes the following: household appliances (washers, dryers,
refrigerators, old water tanks, toasters, irons and like items), furniture
(sofas, chairs, lawn chairs, tables and like items). Acceptable materials
are white goods (stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc.); television
sets, portable or console; furniture; carpet and rugs; metal sheds
(broken down small); lawn furniture; nonriding mowers; small auto
parts; old books; book cases; barbecue grills (tanks removed); home
office furniture; small appliances; toys, clothing and tools; home
accessories; old doors, windows, etc.; children's pools; hot-water
heaters; small fixtures; cabinets, dressers, mirrors, etc. "Special
rubbish" shall not include the following: unempty paint cans; pesticides,
herbicides, etc.; paint thinners; driveway sealant; hazardous materials;
gas or propane canisters; riding mowers and similar equipment; construction
materials; auto batteries; leaves and brush; commercial-size freezers;
pool chemicals; photo developing chemicals; junk cars or trucks; tree
stumps; household food waste; used motor oil; furnaces, fuel tanks,
etc.; explosive or flammable materials; items of excessive weight;
demolition materials; recyclable materials; car or truck tires.

Special rubbish may only be disposed of at a
proper facility accepting such items, including the Sussex County
Municipal Utilities Authority.
No special rubbish shall be discarded, dumped, placed or otherwise disposed of in violation of Chapter
253, Littering.
Penalties may be assessed for the violation of this article as set forth in Chapter
1, Article
III, General Penalty, of the Code of the Township of Stillwater.
