The City Clerk shall be appointed by the Council upon recommendation
of the President thereof and serve at the pleasure of the Council.
The Clerk's salary shall be determined by the Council.
The City Clerk may also hold the position of Deputy Treasurer
of the city.
The City Clerk shall attend every meeting of the Council and
keep a full, accurate and indexed account of the proceedings of the
Council. He shall maintain an ordinance file containing all effective
ordinances and shall have available for public use up-to-date copies
of all ordinances affecting planning, zoning and the construction
and reconstruction of buildings and structures within the city. He
shall attest the passage of all ordinances and affix the city seal
thereto. He shall keep such other records and perform such other duties
as may be ordered by the Council.
