by Res. of 1-30-1997, expired 11-30-2002, and was not continued by
subsequent Town Meeting action.
The Municipal Roads Committee shall consist of seven members who
shall be electors of the Town. The members of said Committee shall
be appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Town Council.
The initial Committee will have three members whose terms commence
on December 10, 2018, and end on January 31, 2020, and four members
whose terms commence on December 10, 2018, and end on January 31,
2022. Thereafter, the members of the Municipal Roads Committee shall
serve for terms of four years commencing February 1 and terminating
January 31. Any vacancy in any term of office of a member of the Municipal
Roads Committee shall be filled pursuant to the Town Charter.
Reviewing and evaluating all requests for proposals and/or bids with respect to road-related work outsourced by the Town. Upon reviewing said documentation, the Committee shall make recommendations to the Purchasing Authority pursuant to § 2-92(a) of the Code of Ordinances.
Maintaining a comprehensive schedule of road work, and reporting
the same to the Town Council and Board of Finance on an annual basis,
no later than April 1 of each year.
Making recommendations regarding priorities for correcting road
deficiencies and establishing criteria in prioritizing road improvement
projects. Such criteria shall include, but need not be limited to:
analysis of need, safety issues, financial constraints, and impact
on neighborhoods.
Said Committee may also be tasked from time to time by the Mayor,
with resolution of the Town Council, in reviewing the Town's road-related
policies and programs.
