No person, firm or corporation shall deposit, keep or store,
or cause to be deposited, kept or stored, on any public or private
lands within the Borough of Lodi:
A. Any junk, garbage, refuse, debris, waste materials, or scrap of any
kind except that which is kept in suitable containers awaiting pickup
in the normal course of public or private refuse collection.
B. Any building or construction materials which are not to be used in
a construction project for which an existing building permit has been
issued by the Department of Building and Inspections. Nothing in this
subsection shall prevent the storage of such materials in an enclosed,
permanent structure.
C. Subject to the exception expressed in Subsection
D of this section, any motor vehicle, motorized vehicle, trailer, mobile home, motorcycle, motor scooter or moped which does not bear a current New Jersey inspection sticker or is not currently registered or is not currently operable. No trailer or mobile home shall be kept or stored on any premises between the front setback line, as defined in the Lodi Zoning Ordinance, and the front property line. Nothing in this subsection shall prevent the storage of vehicles within an enclosed, permanent structure.
D. On any premises upon which the business of motor vehicle, motorized
vehicle, or trailer repair of any kind is conducted:
(1) No motor vehicle, motorized vehicle, or trailer may be kept or stored
which is not either:
(a)
Undergoing present repairs and awaiting delivery of necessary
parts or other repair materials commonly available in the ordinary
course of business; or
(b)
Awaiting, in its turn, the availability of enclosed repair facilities.
(2) No motor vehicle, motorized vehicle, or trailer may be kept or stored
for a period in excess of 10 days unless such vehicle shall thereafter
be kept or stored in a fully enclosed, permanent structure.
E. Any machinery, appliances, or parts thereof, or automobile parts,
metal products, or scrap metal.
Nothing in this chapter shall be construed:
A. To allow the conduct of a business or activity in a zone in which,
under the terms of the Lodi Zoning Ordinance, such business or activity
is restricted or disallowed; or
B. To allow or permit the storage of hazardous chemicals or materials.
The terms of this chapter shall not apply to duly licensed junkyards.
The terms of this chapter shall be enforced by the Department
of Building and Inspections.

Any person, firm, or corporation who violates the terms of this
chapter shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment
for a period not exceeding 90 days and/or a period of community service
not exceeding 90 days. Each date of violation shall constitute a separate
and distinct offense.
