The Board of Selectman shall call a Town Officers Committee Meeting at least once a year to engage in a general discussion for the purposes of developing and maintaining uniform and consistent long-range policies in relation to the various phases of the Bethany Town government; coordinating the efforts of all Town officers, boards and commissions; promoting harmony and cooperation between all such officers, boards and commissions; and for the general purpose of improving the administration of the government of the Town of Bethany. The Board of Selectmen shall determine the agenda for the meeting pursuant to the terms of this Article

A. The following persons shall be required to attend the Town Officers Committee Meeting and, when meeting in accordance with this Article
I, shall be known as the Town Officers Committee:
(7) Bethany Regional Board of Education.
(12) Zoning Enforcement Officer.
(14) Director of Human Resources.
(15) Director of Parks and Recreation.
(16) One Resident State Trooper.
(19) Superintendent of Schools.
(20) All members of the following Town agencies:
(a)
Board of Assessment Appeals.
(d)
Planning and Zoning Commission.
(f)
Inland Wetlands Commission.
(h)
Park and Recreation Committee.
(21) Such other public officials, employees, or of any other Town agency,
as may be directed by the Board of Selectmen.
B. Such persons shall be notified of the meeting by mail and provided
a copy of the agenda not less than seven days prior to the meeting.
C. Twenty-five members constitute a quorum.

The powers of the Town Officers Committee shall be advisory and exploratory only. The following areas of activity for this body shall be basic, but shall not exclude other topics which may fall within the scope of §
54-1:
A. Procuring revenue for the Town.
B. Solution of particular problems or difficulties confronting any Town
officers, boards or commissions for suggestions and possible solutions.
C. Preliminary examination and discussion of possible ordinances desirable
for presentation to the Town Meeting for adoption.
