A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to raise, keep or have, in the Borough of Chesilhurst, any swine, turkeys, horses, mules, cows, sheep, goats or any other animals, except dogs and cats, and chickens as hereinafter provided.
B. 
No person shall raise, keep or have more than 100 chickens, and same shall be so kept and maintained under and subject to the following conditions:
(1) 
A separate license shall be obtained from the Borough Clerk for keeping of chickens, as herein permitted, the license fee for which shall be $5. Said licenses shall commence on January 1 and expire on December 31 of each year, and shall be renewable annually prior to expiration.
(2) 
Such chickens shall under no circumstances be allowed to run at large, but shall be kept confined in a suitable house, stall or coop, with accompanying area which shall be fenced or enclosed with regular poultry wire at least six feet in height and no less than 15 feet from adjoining property line. Said house, stall or coop shall be of masonry construction and have a concrete floor, and the same shall be at least nine feet by 12 feet in size and seven feet high, and there shall be installed therein such ventilation as will properly and suitably ventilate the interior thereof. No such house, stall or coop shall be located less than 25 feet from any residential dwelling and no less than 50 feet from any adjoining property line.
(3) 
Said house, stall or coop, used for said chickens, must be kept clean and sanitary and free from all refuse. Said enclosure shall be thoroughly swept, at least once every 24 hours, and it shall be unlawful to permit any decaying food or any refuse of any kind to remain in such enclosure. Refuse from such enclosure shall, when swept up or collected, be kept in airtight containers until disposed of in accordance with the ordinances of the Borough, and it shall be unlawful to permit any such refuse to remain uncovered.
(4) 
Inspections hereunder shall be made by the Camden County Board of Health at least once every three months, but said Board shall also have the right to inspect at any reasonable hours any of said enclosures and any additional number of times should there be any complaint lodged with it that there is or may be a violation of this article. An inspection sheet or report shall be prepared and a copy thereof given to the owner within seven days of said inspection. Any violation hereunder shall be cause for revocation of license after notice and hearing before the Borough Council of the Borough of Chesilhurst, in addition to any other penalty provided hereunder.
