[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Upper Deerfield 9-4-1980 by Ord. No. 225 (Ch. 24 of the 1977 Township Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
GENERAL REFERENCES
Salaries and compensation — See Ch. 79.
Salaries, wages and compensation of all officers and employees of the Township of Upper Deerfield shall be paid by check as provided herein.
A bank account entitled "Upper Deerfield Township Payroll Account" shall be established in a bank designated from time to time by resolution of the Township Committee.

A. 
All employees who regularly work 30 hours per week or more shall be considered full-time employees. All employees who regularly work not less than five hours per day for not less than three consecutive days per week shall be considered regular part-time employees.
B. 
All full-time and regular part-time employees shall be paid biweekly on every other Friday, provided that, if such Friday is a holiday, then payment shall be made on the next proceeding business day.

All employees who regularly work less than 30 hours per week shall be considered part-time employees and shall be paid on the date when payment is due, as fixed by agreement with each such employee, after approval of the payroll as provided herein.[1]

Editor's Note: Former §§ 24-5, Certification of payroll for full-time employees, and 24-6, Certification of payroll for part-time employees, which sections immediately followed this section, were deleted at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I).
The Township Committee, by resolution, may designate the Township officers who shall be authorized to approve and certify the payroll and to order the making of necessary and proper adjustments and the correction of any errors therein, and it shall thereupon be the duty of the Township Treasurer to properly make such adjustments and corrections and make appropriate record thereof.
The Township Treasurer shall draw checks against the payroll account to the order of the respective officers and employees of the Township as authorized by the approved payrolls. All checks drawn against the payroll account shall be signed by the Township Treasurer, and no other signature shall be required thereon.
The Township Treasurer shall withhold from the respective payees thereof any and all checks for salary, wages or compensation drawn pursuant to the authority herein granted until the full amount of the salary, wages or compensation for which such check shall have been drawn shall have been fully earned by the payee thereof.
