Prior to the close of the Township's fiscal year, the Commissioners
shall appoint, by resolution, an independent Auditor, who shall be
a certified public accountant registered in Pennsylvania, a firm of
certified public accountants so registered, or a competent public
accountant or a competent firm of public accountants, for the purpose
of conducting an audit of the Township's accounts.
The Auditor shall make an independent examination of all of
the accounts and accounting records of the Township for the fiscal
year then closing.
The Commissioners shall appoint the Auditor at least 30 days
prior to the close of the fiscal year of the Township, and the compensation
of the Auditor shall be fixed by resolution of the Board of Commissioners.
The independent Auditor shall have and possess all the powers
and perform all the duties provided in the First Class Township Code,
Act of June 24, 1931, P.L. 1206, for elected auditors.
