A. 
Burning of leaves shall be permitted, although the Village greatly discourages such burning, during the period from October 15 through April 15, and only between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
B. 
Campfires are permitted as long as they are contained in fire rings and attended to at all times; and:
(1) 
Monitored by a responsible person until the fire has extinguished itself completely;
(2) 
Conducted on days when excessive wind or atmospheric conditions will not result in danger to public health or safety;
(3) 
Located off the public street pavement or street gutter;
(4) 
Located at least 30 feet from any neighboring residence;
(5) 
Not used for covert incineration of offensive substances or materials.
A. 
Open burning is prohibited. No person, firm or corporation shall build any outdoor fire within the corporate limits of the Village of Blanchardville, excepting as set forth in Subsection B of this section. This prohibition on burning includes burning of construction waste and debris at construction sites.
B. 
Exceptions:
(1) 
Outdoor cooking over a fire contained in a device or structure designed for such use is permissible.
(2) 
Controlled burning of grass or similar vegetation for environmental management purposes, with the prior written approval of the Fire Chief, may be permitted. This exception is not to be used for the burning of grass, leaves or other lawn debris.
(3) 
Ceremonial campfire or bonfires, with prior written approval of the Fire Chief, may be permitted.
(4) 
Other occasions of desirable outdoor burning not specified by this subsection, but not as an alternative to refuse removal or disposal of which other methods are available, may be granted single occasion approval as in Subsection B(2) or (3) above.
(5) 
Whenever approval and special permits are granted by the Fire Chief in Subsection B(2), (3) and (4) of this section, the permit may specify and be conditioned on observance of safety restrictions and insurance requirements set forth therein.
A. 
The use of burn barrels is prohibited in the corporate limits of the Village of Blanchardville.
B. 
Exceptions:
(1) 
Use by the Village of Blanchardville Police Department, with authorization of the Fire Chief, for official purposes.
(2) 
Use by the Village of Blanchardville Fire Department for official purposes.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as provided in § 1-4 of this Code.
