Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:5-17a, claims against the City of Port Republic shall be approved or disapproved by City Council as provided in § 13-2 herein.
All claims shall be filed with the City Clerk and comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:5-16, Subsections a and b. The City Clerk shall present said claims to the proper committee or committees of the City Council, which shall approve or disapprove the same by writing its approval or disapproval thereon with reasons for disapproval and signing the same by not less than a majority of said committee, and the City Clerk shall present said bills with said approval or disapproval endorsed thereon to the City Council at a regular or special meeting. If the City Council shall approve any claim or claims, it shall pass a resolution approving the same, and if it disapproves any claim or claims, it shall pass a resolution disapproving the same.
