There is hereby created the position of civilian Part-Time Drug
Abuse and Resistance Education (DARE)/Safe Schools Resource Specialist
(SSRS).
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR
The official appointed by the governing body pursuant to the terms and conditions of Article
II who shall serve as the immediate supervisor of the DARE/SSRS in performing his/her duties and responsibilities.
DARE/SSRS
The civilian part-time official charged with the duty of
preparing and implementing education and prevention programs to help
educate elementary and secondary school pupils, parents and educators
concerning the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse.
The DARE/SSRS shall be appointed to a term of office not to
exceed one year, which term shall expire on December 31 of each and
every year. A reappointment may be made by the Township Committee
during its annual Reorganization Meeting. The DARE/SSRS shall work
30 hours to 33 hours per week during the school year. He/she shall
not be entitled to receive any medical and dental health benefits,
or earn and accrue vacation and sick leave or receive holiday pay.
The compensation for the DARE/SSRS position shall be fixed by
the governing body, and may be increased, decreased or modified from
time to time by the governing body in the manner prescribed by law.
