Pursuant to Section 11 of the Uniform Fire Safety Act (P.L.
1983, c. 383), the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced within
the established limits of Fire District No. 1 for the Township of
Berlin.
The local enforcing agency shall be the Bureau of Fire Prevention
of Fire District No. 1, Township of Berlin, within the limits established
by ordinance.
The local enforcement agency shall enforce the Uniform Fire
Safety Act and the codes and regulations adopted under it in all buildings,
structures and premises within the established boundaries of Fire
District No. 1, other than owner-occupied one- and two-family dwellings,
and shall faithfully comply with the requirements of the Uniform Fire
Safety Act and the Uniform Fire Code.
The local enforcing agency established by §
170-15 of this article shall carry out the periodic inspections of life-hazard uses required by the Uniform Fire Code on behalf of the Commissioner of Community Affairs, State of New Jersey.
The local enforcement agency established by §
170-15 of this article shall be a part of the fire district and shall be under the supervision of the Fire Official, who shall report to the Board of Fire Commissioners. Such funds as may be necessary to support the operation of the agency shall be raised by the district in the manner provided by law.

Pursuant to Sections 15 and 17 of the Uniform Fire Safety Act, any person aggrieved by any order of the local enforcement
agency shall have the right to appeal to the Construction Board of
Appeals of Camden County.
In addition to the inspection and fees required pursuant to
the Act and the regulations of the Department of Community Affairs,
the following additional inspections and fees shall be required:
A. The fire
districts will register all non-life-hazard uses within the district.

The permit fees established by the Uniform Fire Code shall be
as follows or as may be amended from time to time by the Uniform Fire
