There is hereby created the position of Code Enforcement Officer
for the Township of Eagleswood.
The annual wage for said position shall be listed in any salary
guide to be adopted by the Township Committee.
The Code Enforcement Officer for the Township of Eagleswood
shall be appointed by the Township Committee and shall serve for a
term of one year, commencing on January 1 of the year of the appointment
and ending on December 31 of that year, or until a successor shall
be appointed and qualified. The position of Code Enforcement Officer
shall be part-time.
The duties and responsibilities of the Code Enforcement Officer
for the Township of Eagleswood shall be as follows:
A. To enforce the municipal and Board of Health ordinances and codes
of the Township of Eagleswood;
B. To prepare and submit a monthly report to the Township Committee
summarizing all activities of the previous month concerning the duties
of the Code Enforcement Officer;
C. To make investigations, serve violation notices, make and process
complaints for code violations and make court appearances as necessary
in connection therewith;
D. To maintain files of all papers and records pertinent to work performance;
E. To work harmoniously with the other departments of the Township,
including, but not limited to, the Building Department and the Board
of Health;
F. To perform other related duties as may be directed and requested
from time to time by the Township Committee;
G. To conduct field inspections and special investigations to ensure
compliance with Township ordinances, initiate and enforce rules and
regulations in relation to enforcement of all Township ordinances,
initiate necessary legal action against violators of the Township
ordinances, prepare needed reports, establish and maintain the records
and files, and may assist in the promulgation of Township ordinances;
and
H. To issue stop-work orders when necessary.

To be appointed to the position of Code Enforcement Officer
for the Township of Eagleswood an individual must meet the following
requirements:
A. Have a high school diploma or equivalent thereof;
B. Have thorough knowledge of the building, health and zoning codes
of the Township of Eagleswood;
C. Possess the ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate
in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position; and
D. Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental
defects which would impair the proper performance of the required
duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or
others. Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible
as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after
reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the
accommodations cannot be made because it would cause the employer
undue hardship, such person may not be eligible.
