All electrical wiring, apparatus or appliances shall be installed
in accordance with the National Electrical Code as approved by the
American Standards Association.

Suitable fire control devices and equipment shall be available
at locations where flammable liquids are stored, handled, dispensed
or used in quantities requiring a permit under this Chapter and such
device and equipment shall be of a type and design satisfactory to
the Building Inspector. Installation conforming with nationally recognized
standards, such as the National Board of Fire Underwriters' Pamphlet
No. 10 giving standards for installation of first aid appliances,
shall be deemed to be in compliance with this Section.

A. Permit Required. No person, firm, corporation, organization
or association shall move or transport upon the streets of the City
of Dexter, Missouri, any equipment, buildings or parts thereof or
any other object which exceeds twelve (12) feet in width or the height
of fifteen (15) feet from the surface of the street without first
obtaining a permit from the City Administrator authorizing the moving
or transporting of the same.
B. Fee For Application. Any person, firm, corporation, organization
or association desiring to move and transport any object upon the
streets of the City of Dexter shall first apply to the City Administrator
for a permit to so do, which application shall describe the object
to be moved, the place of entry upon any public street, the route
of travel within the City, the place of final destination, the size
and estimated weight thereof and the times and days upon which it
is proposed to move and transport the same. Each application shall
be accompanied by the fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) which shall be
retained by the City of Dexter, whether such permit is issued or refused.
C. When Approved. The City Administrator shall consider each
such application and if it appears that the granting of a permit will
not damage the streets of the City and will not create a traffic hazard
or obstruction, the City Administrator will grant such permit which
shall specify the route of travel, the times and days for such moving
or transporting and shall specify the type of escorts required, if
any.
D. Penalty. Any person, firm, corporation, organization or
association violating the provisions of this Section shall be punished
by a fine of no more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment
not to exceed ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

A. The
Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department is hereby vested
with the duty and authority to assign street numbers to all lots,
houses and other buildings within the City of Dexter, provided further
that at least one (1) number shall be assigned for every fifty (50)
feet of street footage in residential areas.
1. The Superintendent shall maintain a record showing the proper street
number of every lot, house and building in the City.
2. It shall be the duty of the owners and occupants of every house and
building in the City to have placed thereon, in a place visible from
the street, figures at least two and one-half (2½) inches high
showing the number assigned to said house or building.
3. Any person, firm or corporation failing to so number any house or
building occupied or owned by him/her or if after receiving notice
to do so from the City shall continue in his/her failure to so number
such house or building, shall be fined one dollar ($1.00) for each
day during or on which a failure to so number continues.

Except as provided in Chapter
410, Subdivision Regulations, the name proposed to be given to any new street within the City of Dexter, Missouri, shall require the approval of the Board of Aldermen. Streets that are in alignment with existing streets already named shall be given the name of the existing street. Names of new streets shall not duplicate or closely approximate those of existing streets.
