Within fifteen (15) days after his/her appointment and before
entering upon the discharge of the duties of his/her office, the City
Treasurer shall execute to the City of Hayti a bond in the sum of
fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) with at least two (2) good and
sufficient sureties, conditioned that he/she will faithfully perform
all the duties of his/her office, and that he/she will pay over all
monies belonging to the City, as provided by law, that may come into
his/her possession. When properly executed, said bond with the Mayor's
approval endorsed thereon shall be filed in the office of the City
Clerk who shall record and safely keep the same.

The Treasurer shall keep in a set of books to be provided by
the City for that purpose a full and accurate account of all monies
received and disbursed by him/her on behalf of the City, specifying
the date of receipt or disbursement, from whom received and on what
account received and disbursed, to whom disbursed, and he/she shall
keep the account of each fund and appropriations separately. He/she
shall keep a register of all warrants paid into the Treasury, cancel
all bonds, coupons, warrants and other evidences of debt against the
City whenever paid by him/her by writing or stamping across the face
thereof the words "paid by the City Treasurer" with the date of payments
written or stamped thereon and signed by him/her. He/she shall issue
duplicate receipts for all sums of money which may be paid into the
City Treasury, specifying in said receipts date of payment and upon
what account paid, one (1) of said receipts to be filed with the City
Clerk who thereupon shall credit the person for the amount named in
the receipt and charge the Treasurer with the same. H He/she shall
furnish the Board with information, in writing, upon any subject relating
to his/her office upon the fiscal affairs of this City and shall perform
such other duties as may be required of him/her by law or ordinance.

The Treasurer shall report to the Board of Aldermen on or before
the first (1st) day of July in each year the amount of receipts and
expenditures of the Treasury, the amount of money on hand, and the
amount of bonds falling due, if any, for the redemption of which provision
must be made; also the amount of interest to be paid during the next
fiscal year. The Treasurer's report may be published if deemed necessary
by the Board of Aldermen.

The Treasurer shall not pay any warrants drawn on him/her unless
such warrant be presented by the person in whose favor it is drawn
or his/her assignee, executor or administrator.
