The City Council of the City of Poplar Bluff hereby establishes a Disabilities Advisory Committee in the City for the purpose of assisting the City in complying with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and to act as a mediation panel to consider complaints that may be filed with the City in connection with the said Act.

The said committee shall be appointed by the Mayor of the City of Poplar Bluff with the approval of the City Council, and shall consist of seven (7) members with staggered terms. The first (1st) year three (3) members shall be appointed for three (3) year terms, two (2) members for two (2) year terms and two (2) members for a one (1) year term. Thereafter, members appointed shall serve for a term of three (3) years.
