[Ord. No. 3187 §1, 11-5-2014]
A. Blocks shall meet the following standards. Each block in a subdivision
shall be numbered in a reasonable schematic method.
1.
In residential areas, blocks shall be not less than six hundred
(600) nor more than one thousand three hundred twenty (1,320) feet
in length measured along the greatest dimension of the enclosed block
area, unless necessitated by topography. Block length in commercial
or industrial areas shall be as determined by the Planning Commission
to be suitable for the intended use.
2.
In blocks over six hundred (600) feet in length, the Planning
Commission may require one (1) or more public walkways within an easement
not less than ten (10) feet in width to extend entirely across the
block and at locations deemed necessary at intervals not closer than
four hundred (400) feet.
3.
Blocks shall each be wide enough to allow two (2) back-to-back
lots, with a minimum depth of one hundred twenty (120) feet, except
where adjoining a major thoroughfare or where one (1) through lot
is necessary because of topographic conditions.
