The Tax Collector shall deposit all taxes collected to the municipal
savings account established for this purpose within 24 hours of the
close of each day's business and provide the Treasurer of the taxing
district with a written statement of said deposit.
The Tax Collector shall on or before the 10th day of each month
make a true, verified statement in writing to the Secretary of the
taxing district for all taxes collected during the previous month
giving the names of the taxable, the amount collected from each, along
with discounts granted or penalties applied, if any, and the total
amount of taxes received, discounts granted and penalties applied.
The Tax Collector shall be the collector of all taxes levied
within the Borough by the authorities empowered to levy taxes. He
shall, in addition to the powers, perform all the duties and be subject
to all the obligations and responsibilities for the collection of
such taxes as are now vested in, conferred upon or imposed upon Tax
Collectors by law.
The Borough of Darby will pay the expenses of postage and printing
of tax notices.
Every Tax Collector must give bond, according to the provisions
of the law affecting the taxing districts in which he serves, in order
to secure the taxing district against losses of tax funds.
The tax notice shall include the following: real estate, trash,
fire and sewer rental. The tax notice shall be dated no later than
February 15.
