Unless another penalty is expressly provided by a Township ordinance, every person convicted of a violation of a Township ordinance, or any rule, regulation or order adopted or issued pursuant thereto, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500 and costs of prosecution or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court. Each act of violation and every day upon which any such violation shall occur shall constitute a separate offense, except that:

Any person under 17 years of age convicted of an ordinance violation shall be guilty of a municipal civil infraction punishable by a fine of not more than $500, in the discretion of the court, regardless of any penalty provisions that may be stated in any Township ordinance.
Nothing in this article shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding pending in any court or administrative body, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance affected by this article; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this article.
