[Ord. No. 2005-13 § 1, 12-15-2005]
Street numbers for dwelling units and places of business will
be assigned by the City.
[Ord. No. 2005-13 § 2, 12-15-2005]
A. The owner, occupant or person in charge of any house or building
to which a number has been assigned shall affix the number in a conspicuous
manner in a conspicuous place. It shall be the duty of such owner,
occupant or person in charge thereof, upon affixing the new number,
to remove any different number which might be mistaken for or confused
with the number assigned to such structure by the City. Each principal
building shall display the number assigned to the frontage on which
the front entrance is located. In case a principal building is occupied
by more than one (1) business or family dwelling unit, each separate
front entrance may display a separate number or letter.
B. Numerals indicating the official numbers for each principal building or each front entrance to such building shall be posted in such a manner as to be legible and distinguishable from the street on which the property is located, with numbers painted or applied, of a contrasting color to the background, not less than four (4) inches in height, all in compliance with the Property Maintenance Code adopted in Article
I of this Chapter. If a building or dwelling is situated in such a way that the numbers cannot be easily seen from the roadway in front of such structure, then a sign or number post must be used in front of the structure and placed in such a way that it can be easily seen from the roadway.
[Ord. No. 2005-13 § 3, 12-15-2005]
An occupancy permit shall not be issued until an address number
has been posted on the building. Final approval of a certificate of
occupancy of any principal building erected or repaired after the
effective date of this Article shall be withheld until permanent property
numbers have been displayed in accordance with the requirements of
this Article.
[Ord. No. 2005-13 § 4, 12-15-2005]
In the event that the owner, occupant, or person in charge of
any dwelling or building refuses to comply with the terms of this
article by failing to affix the number assigned within thirty (30)
days after notification, or by failing within such period of thirty
(30) days to remove any old numbers affixed to such dwelling or building
or dwelling or building entrance, or elsewhere, which may be confused
with the number assigned thereto, shall be subject to the penalty
of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month.
