It is acknowledged that the law governing municipal land use
in the State of New Jersey changes on a periodic basis due to state
legislation and judicial decisions. In order to ensure that the land
use legislation of the Township of Washington is current in all respects,
notwithstanding that a specific enactment may not have been made,
the intention of the Township of Washington is hereby declared that
the land use legislation of the Township of Washington shall be read
and determined to be in conformity with the New Jersey Municipal Land
Use Law (P.L. 1975, c. 291; N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1 et seq.).
Unless the context clearly indicates a different meaning, for
the purposes of this article, all definitions contained in the Municipal
Land Use Law, specifically N.J.S.A. 40:55D-3 to 40:55D-7 inclusive,
are hereby incorporated by reference into this article.
