There shall be a Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center headed
by a Director. The Director of the Crime Victim and Sexual Violence
Center shall be appointed by the County Executive, subject to confirmation
by the County Legislature and serve at the pleasure of the County
Executive.
The Director of the Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center
shall:
(a) Be
the head and chief administrative officer of the Crime Victim and
Sexual Violence Center;
(b) Have
all powers and duties conferred on or required of a Director of the
Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center by this Charter, Executive
Order of the County Executive, local law or resolution of the County
Legislature, or by applicable law not inconsistent with this Charter,
which shall be necessary to enable him or her to manage and supervise
the Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center;
(c) Manage,
coordinate and supervise the Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center's
activities in providing:
(i) Support for sexual assault victims;
(ii) Court advocacy and assistance;
(iii) Counseling for all crime victims;
(iv) Educational programs; and
(v) Any other programs that the Director sees fit to carry out the mission
of the Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center; and
(d) Perform
such other duties as may be required by the County Executive or the
County Legislature.
