No person, other than a law enforcement officer acting within
the scope of his or her authority, may fire or discharge any firearm
within the City, except firearms may be discharged for hunting purposes
during lawful hunting seasons, provided:
A. Such hunting and discharge is in accordance with all provisions of
the Wisconsin State Statutes and the rules of the Department of Natural
Resources;
B. Such hunting is upon lands owned by the hunter, or is conducted with
the written permission of the landowner, or is upon lands that are
clearly designated as public hunting grounds;
C. No discharge of firearms occurs within 100 yards of a structure,
or within a distance of 50 feet of the center line of any street or
roadway, or occurs by shooting across a street or roadway; or
D. No discharge of firearms may occur on lands owned by the City or
within any public park.
No person, except a sheriff, police officer or their deputies,
shall set or cause to be set any steel or metal leg-hold trap designed
for the purpose of trapping fur-bearing animals; provided, however,
that this section is not preventing or prohibiting the use of possible
traps designed to trap fur-bearing animals in a manner so as not to
cause injury to the animal.
