with the boundaries and designations therein is made part of these
Zoning Laws.
Where uncertainty exists with respect to the
boundaries of any of the aforesaid districts as shown on the Zoning
Map, the following rules shall apply:
A. Distances shown on the Zoning Map are perpendicular
or radial distances from street lines of measured back to the zone
boundary line, which lines in all cases, where distances are given,
are parallel to the street line.
B. Where district boundaries are indicated as approximately
following the center lines of streets or highways, street lines, or
highway right-of-way lines, such center lines, street lines, or highway
right-of-way lines shall be construed to be such boundaries.
C. Where district boundaries are so indicated that they
approximately follow the lot line, such lot lines shall be construed
to be said boundaries.
D. Where district boundaries are so indicated that they
are approximately parallel to the center lines or street lines of
streets, or the center lines or right-of-way lines of highways, such
district boundaries shall be construed as being parallel thereto and
at such distance therefrom as indicated on the Zoning Map. If no distance
is given, such dimension shall be determined by the use of the scale
on said Zoning Map.
E. Where the boundary of a district follows a railroad
line or is parallel thereto, such boundary shall be deemed to be located,
or shall be measured from a point midway between the main tracks of
said railroad line.
F. Where the boundary of a district follows a stream,
lake, or other body of water, said boundary line shall be deemed to
be at the limit of the jurisdiction of the Village of Dansville, unless
otherwise designated. If no distance is given, the dimension shall
be determined by the use of the scale shown on said Zoning Map.
Except as herein provided, no building or land
shall hereafter be used or occupied and no building or part thereof
shall be erected, moved, or altered unless in conformity with the
uses listed as permitted uses in each zone by this chapter and in
conformity with the requirements set forth in the schedule of § 609A;

upon or reduced in any manner, except in conformity to the area and
bulk requirements, off-street parking requirements, and all other
regulations designated in the schedule and this chapter for the zone
district in which such building or space is located. In the event
of any such unlawful encroachment or reduction, such building or use
shall be deemed to be in violation of this chapter and the certificate
of occupancy shall become void.
