Before any building or premises shall be wired or equipped for
the installation of lighting, heating or power apparatus and before
any alteration, extensions or change shall be made in the wiring of
any premises, a permit therefor may be required by the City Council
by the party who makes such installation or alteration from the Electrical
Inspector.

A. The electrical permit fees established by this Section shall be as
follows:
1.
Residence service and entrance: five dollars ($5.00).
2.
Commercial service and entrance: ten dollars ($10.00).
3.
Temporary service: two dollars ($2.00).
4.
First five (5) circuits: five dollars ($5.00).
5.
Over five (5) circuits, each: fifty cents ($0.50).
6.
Pumps, fans, etc., each: fifty cents ($0.50).
7.
Electrical signs, each: two dollars ($2.00).
8.
Air conditioner: one dollar ($1.00).
9.
Furnace: one dollar ($1.00).
10.
Switches, receptacles, each: twenty-five cents ($0.25).
11.
Motors 1 (one) HP and over, each: one dollar ($1.00).
12.
Minimum fee: ten dollars ($10.00).
13.
Maximum fee: two hundred dollars ($200.00).
B. All such fees set out above as can be predetermined shall be paid
at time of issuance of permit. Other fees which cannot be predetermined
shall be due and payable prior to issuance of a certificate of occupancy.

The owner or tenants of the premises having been notified of
a violation may appeal the decision to the Electrical Board, and the
decision of the Electrical Board shall become final. Continuing violation
after appeal shall be prosecuted in the Municipal Court.

Nothing in this Article shall deny a qualified homeowner the
right to perform electrical work within his/her own property boundaries,
providing such electrical work is done by himself and is used exclusively
by him/her or his/her family. Such privilege does not convey the right
to violate any of the provisions of this Electrical Code, nor is it
to be construed as exempting any such property owner from obtaining
a permit and paying the required fees therefor.
