The Borough of Glassboro does hereby adopt the attached "Borough
of Glassboro Guest Wireless Network ("WiFi") Acceptable Use Policy"
for use of the Borough's wireless network by individuals, guests and
visiting agencies to access the internet with compatible wireless
devices.
A.
The Borough of Glassboro operates a guest wireless ("WiFi") network,
which is separate from the Borough's internal business network, as
a courtesy for individuals and visiting agencies to access the internet
from their electronic devices. The following acceptable use policy
applies to any individual or agency who uses, or attempts to use,
the functionality and services provided by this network.
(1)
The Borough of Glassboro's guest wireless network, hereafter referred
to as "this network," "the network," or "Borough-Guest," is intended
only for use by Borough of Glassboro employees, elected officials,
vendors, staff educators, and resource personnel.
(2)
This network is not intended for use by community residents or visitors
to Borough facilities, except those permitted by the above list.
(3)
Login pass phrases and/or credentials for this network must not be
shared with any unauthorized individual or entity.
(4)
Unauthorized use of this network is prohibited.
(5)
This network is provided on an as-is basis, with no guarantee of
service.
(6)
Due to the amount of bandwidth required by some applications and
their effect on a shared resource, some protocols or programs may
be blocked, throttled, or otherwise restricted on this network.
(7)
All electronic communication transmitted and received using this
network may be monitored and logged; no expectation of privacy should
be assumed while using this network.
(8)
The Borough of Glassboro shall not be held liable for any disruption
of service, damage to personal property, fees, or other expenses incurred
by an individual or agency before, during, or after the individual
or agency's use of this network.
B.
This network may not be used for any of the following at any time:
(1)
Any activities which violate local, state, or federal statutes.
(2)
Any attempt to circumvent user authentication or security of any
host, network, or account on Borough of Glassboro systems or the internet.
(3)
Use of the network in a manner that interferes with others' normal
use of services on this network, or any other systems or networks,
including denial of service attacks.
(4)
Use of port or scanners or other vulnerability assessment utilities
to scan networks without the express written consent of that network's
administrator.
(5)
Dissemination of spam, viruses, or other malware, whether knowingly
or as the result of a malware infection.
(6)
Sending unsolicited mass mailings, or communications that are harassing
in nature.
(7)
Accessing or posting of material that is pornographic, indecent,
or otherwise offensive.
C.
Any means of circumventing this acceptance by scripts or any other
means also holds you to the terms of use agreement.
