An employee in the service of the Village shall be granted a leave of absence with pay upon appearance before a court, legislature or other body as a witness in a proceeding involving the federal government, the State of Illinois, or a political subdivision thereof, in response to a subpoena or other direction by proper authority or attendance in court in connection with his official duties.
In case of jury duty, the employee's compensation from the Village during his leave for jury duty shall equal the difference between his regular compensation and the compensation paid for jury duty.
The employee must provide a memorandum from the Court Clerk verifying his performance of jury duty.
The employee must report back to his assigned job during the normal working hours if not on active duty as a juror or witness.
