As used in this Article, the following terms shall have these
prescribed meanings:
CROSSBOW
A device for discharging quarrels, bolts, or arrows, formed
of a bow set crosswise on a stock, usually drawn by means of a mechanism
and discharged by the release of a trigger.
FIREARM
Any rifle, shotgun, weapon or similar mechanism by whatever
name known, which is designed to expel a projectile or projectiles
through a gun barrel, tube, pipe, cylinder or similar device by the
action of any explosive.
INTOXICATED CONDITION
Refers to any person when he/she is under the influence of
alcohol, a controlled substance, or drug, or any combination thereof.
PROJECTILE WEAPON
Any bow, crossbow, pellet gun, slingshot or other weapon
that is not a firearm, which is capable of expelling a projectile
that could inflict serious physical injury or death by striking or
piercing a person.

A. Deer may be taken within the corporate limits of Camdenton only during the managed deer hunt which is to be held during the State of Missouri archery deer hunting season or by a deer damage permit as specified in Section
210.2250 of this Article. Additionally, deer hunters will be allowed to continue archery deer hunting under the terms of this Article during firearms season with a valid firearms deer permit.

Discharging or releasing arrows from archery devices within the City limits is prohibited except where the hunter is acting under a permit issued under this Article or unless expressly exempted by Section
210.940 or
210.2250 of this Chapter.
2.
No hunting with firearms is allowed within the City.
3.
No hunting with crossbow is allowed unless expressly exempted by Section
210.2220 or
210.2250 of this Chapter.
4.
All current laws and regulations of the State of Missouri governing
hunting shall be obeyed by the hunters within the corporate limits
of Camdenton.
5.
No hunting is authorized on tracts of land less than three (3)
acres in area.
6.
No hunting is allowed on any private property within the City
without a waiver of City liability signed by the property owner and
on file at City Hall.
7.
Each owner, lessee, or person in charge of any private property
may require any such additional restrictions for the hunt upon such
premises or property as they deem reasonable or necessary.
8.
Each hunter shall hunt only on the tract or location the City
has specified as an authorized tract and for which the hunter has
obtained written permission from the property owner.
9.
It will be the hunter's responsibility to obtain permission
from the owner of the property which has been identified as qualified
for a managed archery deer hunt.
10.
Each hunter shall be required to hunt from an elevated stand, labeled with the hunter's full name and address, and placed at least ten (10) feet high at the standing platform unless expressly exempted by Section
210.2220 of this Chapter. Stands may not be attached to the tree by use of a means which would harm the tree. Screw-in or other damaging steps are prohibited. Hunter shall use a safety harness while in the stand.
11.
Each hunter who is permitted to hunt within the City shall carry
and display at all times while on the hunt a permit card displayed
in the hunter's vehicle and carried on each hunter's person. Such
card shall be displayed upon request of any Camdenton Police Officer
or Missouri Department of Conservation Agent.
12.
All hunters shall park their vehicles on the same property on
which they are hunting.
13.
Prior to discharging an archery device intended to be used for
hunting, it shall be the hunter's responsibility to permanently mark
each arrow with his/her Missouri Department of Conservation number.
14.
All hunters must report to the designated officer of the City
of Camdenton within twenty-four (24) hours all deer harvested in the
City of Camdenton to include at a minimum the hunter's name, sex of
animal, and property where harvested.

A. Each person who participates in the managed deer hunt within the
corporate limits of Camdenton shall hold a permit issued by the City
after having met the following conditions:
1.
Complete and submit an application for a City of Camdenton managed
archery deer hunt permit on a form to be approved by the City Administrator.
2.
Provide a form of picture identification.
3.
Provide a valid Missouri archery deer permit.
4.
If the hunter is making application to participate in the Camdenton
managed archery deer hunt during the Missouri firearms season, a valid
Missouri firearms permit will be required in lieu of the valid Missouri
archery deer hunting permit during the Missouri firearms season.
5.
Provide proof of hunter education certification, if required
by Missouri Department of Conservation Hunting Regulations.
6.
Be of the age of sixteen (16) years.
7.
If hunting with a physical handicap exemption as set out in
this Article, the hunter must provide a copy of the determination
form approved by their physician.
8.
The City Administrator or his/her designee may revoke the permit
issued hereunder at any time for any violation of the rules and regulations
of the Camdenton managed archery deer hunt.
9.
The City of Camdenton may refuse to issue such permits to any
individual at their sole discretion without cause or justification.

A. It shall be unlawful for any person hunting under the Camdenton managed
archery deer hunt to trespass on the premises of another or discharge
any device on the premises of another without the permission of that
owner or person in charge of said property.
B. It shall be unlawful for any person hunting under this Article to
fail or refuse to leave any private property when requested to do
so by owner, lessee, or person in charge of said property.
C. It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge an archery device
at or in the direction and within one hundred fifty (150) feet of
any person, vehicle, dwelling, house, church, school or building.
D. No arrow used to hunt deer may be discharged or projected at such
an angle or distance as to land on public or private property other
than the property on which the hunt has been authorized.
E. No arrow used to hunt deer may be discharged or projected at such
angle or distance as to land within one hundred (100) feet of any
street, public right-of-way, or property line.
F. It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of sixteen (16)
years to hunt deer within the City limit of Camdenton.
G. It shall be unlawful for any person to be in an intoxicated condition
while engaged in hunting activities within the City limits of Camdenton.
H. Deer may not be hunted, pursued, taken or killed with the aid of any motor-driven vehicle unless expressly exempted by Section
210.2220 of this Chapter.
I. Deer stands may be in place only from September 1 through January
31.
J. Deer may not be hunted, pursued, taken or killed with the aid of
bait as defined and outlined in the Conservation Department's Deer
Hunting Regulations (3 CSR 10-7.431 RSMo.).
K. Feeding deer is prohibited starting ten (10) days prior to the beginning
of deer season until one (1) day after deer hunting season ends.

Hunter is responsible for obtaining the handicapped determination
on the form provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation and
taking it to his/her physician for determination. If the form is approved
by their physician, the hunter is responsible for carrying the approved
form on his/her person during a hunt and producing the approval upon
request by any Camdenton Police Officer or Missouri Department of
Conservation Agent.

A. Any person who kills or injures any deer while hunting shall make
a reasonable search to retrieve the deer and take it into his/her
possession.
B. This Section does not authorize the act of trespass.
C. It shall be the hunter's responsibility to immediately notify any
property owner, other than the specific property owner who previously
authorized the hunt, of the fact that an injured or dead deer is or
might be located on his/her property.
D. It shall be the hunter's responsibility to obtain permission to enter
the property of any property owner upon which an injured or dead deer
is located prior to engaging in a reasonable search and retrieval
of the deer.
E. In the event that a hunter cannot obtain the permission of a property
owner to conduct a reasonable search and retrieval of an injured or
dead deer, the hunter shall immediately notify the Missouri Department
of Conservation and the City of Camdenton.

A. The decision of whether the harvested animal will be field dressed
on the hunt property or the hunter will be required to bag the deer
on-site for dressing elsewhere will be at the discretion of the land
owner but in no case closer than one hundred (100) feet from adjoining
property line if property owner allows field dressing.
B. In addition to provisions of this Section a person who kills any
deer while hunting shall follow all Missouri Department of Conservation
guidelines regarding field dressing and processing the animal.
C. Any person who kills any deer while hunting shall not field dress
the deer in a public or conspicuous location.
D. Any person who field dresses or otherwise processes a deer shall
properly dispose of the discarded organs and/or body parts in plastic
bags in private trash depositories, or by other appropriate means.
Nothing contained herein shall authorize the illegal dumping of solid
waste or authorize the illegal dumping of biohazardous waste.

If deer property damage complaints are received outside the
prescribed managed archery deer hunt season, a deer damage permit
may be obtained by contacting the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Deer damage permit applications are reviewed and permitted on a case-by-case
basis by the local Missouri Department of Conservation Agent.

A. Persons issued citations for violations of this Article shall forfeit
their City hunting permit issued under this Article and may be refused
future permits under this Article.
B. Any violation of this Article is punishable under the general penalty Section for City offenses in Section
100.220 of the Camdenton City Code.
