From and after the passage of this article it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to close a street cut or ditch in any street where gas mains or lines have been exposed or affected in any manner whatsoever, unless the person, firm or corporation shall have the gas mains or lines inspected by a gas company inspector, and his approval given for the closing of such street cut or ditch.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction before a Magisterial District Judge, pay a fine of not exceeding $15, and costs of prosecution, and in default thereof shall undergo imprisonment in the Cumberland County Jail for a period not exceeding 15 days.
