Upon the effective date of this article, and annually thereafter, any person, corporation, association or other entity owning or managing residential property located within Polk Township shall register with the Township on a form approved by the Township the names and addresses of any person occupying such property, whether leased or otherwise occupied, provided that said period of occupancy is for a period of 90 days or longer.
Attached hereto is a Tenant Registration Form which shall be used by any party obligated to register tenants in Polk Township.[1]

The Tenant Registration Form shall be filed on an annual basis on or before September 1 of each calendar year with the Polk Township Secretary.
There shall be no fee for filing the Tenant Registration Form.

Any person who violates or permits a violation of this article shall, upon being found liable therefor in a civil enforcement proceeding commenced by the Township before a Magisterial District Judge, pay a fine of not more than $600, plus all court costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, incurred by the Township in the enforcement of this article. If the defendant neither pays nor timely appeals the judgment, the Township may enforce the judgment pursuant to the applicable Rules of Civil Procedure. Each day a violation exists shall constitute a separate offense. Further, the appropriate officers or agents of the Township are hereby authorized to seek equitable relief, including injunction, to enforce compliance herewith.
This article shall be known as the "Tenant Registration Ordinance."
