The keeping, maintaining, harboring, or boarding of livestock
or predatory animals within the corporate limits of the Town, for
any purpose whatsoever, is a nuisance and hereafter is unlawful, except
for horses, poultry and fowl, and rabbits as set forth in this chapter.
The keeping, maintaining, harboring or boarding of horses within the corporate limits of the Town, for any purpose whatsoever, is a nuisance and hereafter unlawful, unless permission is obtained from the Town Council. In order for the Town Council to consider granting such permission, the owner or keeper of the horse must (a) fill out the permit application as required in §
122-12; and (b) notify all property owners within 140 feet of the location where the horse would be kept, excluding the widths of all streets and rights-of-way, of the intent to keep a horse; and if there are any objections thereto, permission shall not be granted. Only one horse may be allowed per lot.
If a horse is permitted by the Town Council to remain within
the corporate limits of the Town, all fences or structures for the
confining of the horse shall be a minimum distance of five feet from
the requesting owner's property line.
The keeping, maintaining, or harboring of fowl, poultry, or
rabbits within the corporate limits of the Town, for any purpose whatsoever,
is a nuisance and hereafter unlawful, unless permission is first granted
by the Animal Control Officer.
