The Township shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless any elected or appointed Township official and/or employee from claims, suits or legal proceedings of any type which arise, either directly or indirectly, or in any manner, from the execution of their duties as Township officials, appointed officials and/or employees, whether such said act is deemed to be within the scope of their official capacity or in their personal capacity as may be defined by law, from any and all forms of claims of whatever nature, including but not limited to all costs of defense, court costs, judgment interest, stenographer fees, filing costs, expert witness fees, fees for duplication of documents or costs of any nature.
It is hereby ordained and decreed that the Township shall obtain, to the fullest extent possible, insurance coverages which seek to insulate those individuals against the costs and judgments previously enumerated.
The Township shall be authorized to expend from its general revenues such amounts of money as necessary to effectuate the purposes of this chapter.
