There shall be an Inland-Wetlands and Water Courses Commission
established in accordance with an act concerning Inland Wetlands and
Water Courses (Public Act 155, 1972 Session of the General Assembly,
State of Connecticut, amended Public Act 571, 1973 session).
Said Commission shall have all the powers and responsibilities
authorized under Public Act 155, as amended.
The Conservation Commission of the Town of Putnam created by
ordinance of Town Meeting of October 1, 1962, shall be designated
as the Inland-Wetlands Commission.

The Inland-Wetlands Commission shall have three alternate members
who shall have the same qualifications as regular members and who
shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen or a majority of said
Board. One alternate member shall serve from the date of appointment
until the second Tuesday of January 1976. One alternate member shall
serve from the date of appointment to the second Tuesday of January
1978. One alternate member shall serve from date of appointment to
the second Tuesday of January 1980. On or before the second Tuesday
of January 1976, and every other year thereafter, the Board of Selectmen,
or a majority of said Board, shall appoint one alternate member for
a term of five years from the second Tuesday of January of the year
in which appointment is made. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment
by the Board of Selectmen or a majority of said Board for the unexpired
portion of the term.
