Pursuant to the authority granted by Section 7-136 of the General
Statutes of the State of Connecticut, there is hereby created a Municipal
Economic Development Commission of five members with all the powers
and duties specified in Section 7-136 of the General Statutes of the
State of Connecticut, 1958 Revision, as amended, for the Town of Putnam.
The members of said Commission shall be appointed by the chief
executive authority, Board of Selectmen, of the municipality. There
shall be appointed one member who shall hold office for one year from
the date of appointment, one member who shall hold office for two
years from the date of appointment, one member who shall hold office
for three years from the date of appointment, one member who shall
hold office for four years from the date of appointment, and one member
who shall hold office for five years from the date of appointment.

The Board of Selectmen shall appoint two new members to said
Commission not later than September 1, 1976. One such new member shall
hold office for a term of four years from the date of his appointment
and the other such new member shall hold office for a term of five
years from the date of his appointment.
Any vacancy in the membership of the Commission shall be filled
for the unexpired portion of the term by the Board of Selectmen.
