[The form of government in the Township of Union is the Township
Form which comprises Chapter 63 in Title 40A of the New Jersey Statutes
Annotated. The Administrative Chapter has been drafted in conformity
with the Township law and in many instances, provisions of the Township
law have been restated in the Code. Other enabling laws pertaining
to the Administrative Chapter are N.J.S.A. 40A:14-1, et seq., Police
and Fire Departments; N.J.S.A. 2A:8-1 et seq., Municipal Court; N.J.S.A.
40:55D-69, Zoning Board of Adjustment; N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1, Planning
Board; N.J.S.A. 26:3-1 et seq., Board of Health. Other authority to
regulate the internal affairs of the Township is contained in N.J.S.A.
40:48-2. Salaries and compensation of officers and employees of Township
of Union are not included in this Code. The Salary Ordinance is on
file in the Office of the Township Municipal Clerk and copies are
available for examination by the public.]
