Kayaks are permitted to be launched and retrieved within the roped off areas at Cape and Alexander Beaches during the hours described in Section 58-10[1] above. Additionally, the lifeguards may revoke this privilege if the wave action becomes dangerous in their opinion. Yellow flags will be displayed when the tide is running the rips are especially active.

a. 
Everyone wishing to launch a kayak must have a valid beach tag as described in Sections 58-10 and 58-11.
b. 
Only one person shall occupy a single-seater and two people maximum occupy a twin-seater.
c. 
All occupants must wear life-jackets.
d. 
Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
e. 
Novice boaters are not permitted in the water under yellow flag conditions.
f. 
Launch and retrieve boats only in those areas designated by the lifeguards.
