The burning of grass, leaves, brush, limbs, cut timber, trash or debris within the Village on any public right-of-way or facility, including any street, sidewalk, gutter, alleyway, park or other property owned by the Village of Tilton, is prohibited.
A. 
The burning of leaves and tree limbs only is permitted on private property inside the corporate limits of the Village; provided, however, anyone can do so only on property which they own or at which they reside and that only materials that have grown in the corporate limits of the Village may be burned. Burning is permitted only between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Cut grass may not be burned on private property.

B. 
Recreational fires such as "wiener roasts" are allowed at other times, provided the Village Clerk's office is given written notice 24 hours in advance of the fire, and indicating the intended location of the fire and signed by the individual who will conduct the fire.
Anyone burning leaves or tree limbs as permitted by this article must be in attendance at the fire at all times until it is extinguished, and shall have adequate firefighting equipment at the site for the purpose of extinguishing the fire.
Any person who violates this article shall be subject to a fine of up to $100 plus court costs.
