City of South Amboy, NJ Article IV Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages in Public Places

§ 109-13 Prohibited consumption.

It is hereby prohibited to consume any alcoholic beverage on any sidewalk, street, avenue, highway, public parking lot or beach or in any motor vehicle not on private property within the City of South Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey, at any time. ("Beach" is hereby defined as the land lying to the east of Rosewell Street, including the bathing area known as our landfill area in the City of South Amboy, New Jersey.)

§ 109-14 Violations and penalties.

Any person or persons violating this Article shall, upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of South Amboy, be subject to a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.

§ 109-15 Posting of notice.

Notice of the provision of this Article shall be posted on the beach (landfill) and at the entrance of the City of South Amboy from the Borough of Sayreville at Main Street, South Pine Avenue and Washington Avenue.
