A. 
Words and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the Transportation Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland (Maryland Vehicle Law), as now in force or as hereafter amended, enacted or reenacted, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following words and phrases shall mean:
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE
Any type of motor vehicle used for transporting goods or paying passengers for the profit of an individual or business.
INOPERABLE MOTOR VEHICLE
A vehicle which cannot be driven upon the public streets for reasons including but not limited to being unlicensed, wrecked, abandoned, in a state of disrepair, or incapable of being moved under its own power.
OVERSIZED VEHICLE
A vehicle that is over 18 feet (216 inches) in length or is over eight feet (96 inches) in width, or both.
TRACTOR-TRAILER
A transport vehicle consisting of a tractor unit with coupling that carries much of the weight of the attached semi-trailer.
TRAILER
An unpowered vehicle towed by a powered vehicle commonly used to transport goods and materials.
B. 
The term "legal holidays," as used in this chapter, shall mean and include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, or days celebrated as such.
C. 
In this chapter, the singular shall include the plural, and the plural shall include the singular; the masculine shall include the feminine and the neuter.
The schedules contained in the various sections of this chapter for the recording of regulations adopted pursuant to the provisions of this chapter may be amended or added to from time to time, as deemed necessary by the Town Council of Denton, by ordinance.
This chapter and the regulations adopted thereby will be enforced by the Police Department of the Town of Denton.
