No person shall operate a motor vehicle or tractor upon any sidewalk in the Town of Denton nor shall any person operate a motor vehicle upon or across any sidewalk except in order to gain access to or egress from a driveway or alley at such locations where the curb, if such sidewalk is curbed, shall be properly cut down for the purpose.
Traffic control signals shall be installed and operated at the intersection of those streets described below:

The speed limit for both directions of traffic along the streets and highways or parts thereof in the Town is established at 25 miles per hour or as otherwise posted.

The Chief of the Denton Police Department is hereby authorized 1) to designate travel on streets, roads, drives, lanes, court, and circles within the Town of Denton as one-way or two-way; and 2) to permit parking on one or both sides of any street, road, drive, lane, court, or circle, provided that any such public right-of-way less than 24 feet in width that is designated as two-way shall have no on-street parking and that is designated as one-way may have on-street parking on one side of the public right-of-way and as referenced in Denton Town Code Chapter 73 and Standard Specifications and Details for Public Works Construction.
It shall be unlawful for the operator of a motor vehicle or tractor to make a U-turn on any of the streets or parts thereof described below:

A. 
Except as provided in Subsection B below, it is unlawful for any person, whether such person is the owner, lessee, driver, or otherwise, to operate or drive, or to permit to be operated or driven, any truck or other commercial motor vehicle having a gross weight in excess of 10,000 pounds upon any municipal street, alley or other public way, which is not a part of the state or federal highway system, which has not been posted with appropriate signs identifying such street, alley or other public way as a truck route.
B. 
The restrictions set forth in Subsection A above shall not apply to:
(1) 
Emergency vehicles;
(2) 
School buses;
(3) 
Governmental vehicles;
(4) 
Public utility vehicles or other service vehicles engaged in repairs or construction activities;
(5) 
Vehicles engaged in a parade or other celebration, provided that such vehicle has been approved for such activity by the Town; or
(6) 
Any vehicle making a delivery or loading merchandise or other property to or from any premises located on any street or highway, provided that the vehicle shall enter and leave any such street or highway by the nearest accessible street or highway to the place where such delivery or loading is made, and provided that such vehicle shall remain on such street or highway only for such period of time as is actually necessary and reasonable to make such delivery or loading.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle or tractor upon any street in the Town of Denton that is under construction, resurfacing or repair in disregard of any official sign, barricade or notice that the same is closed to vehicular traffic. It shall also be unlawful to park or remain parked on a closed street.
Any person violating the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be guilty of a misdemeanor, subject to a penalty as provided in § C4-3A of the Charter.
