[Adopted 3-1-1993 by Ord. No. 2-93 (§§ 19.055 and 19.11 of the 1993 Municipal Code)]
A. 
Definition. As used in this section, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
RUMMAGE SALE
Includes all general sales open to the public conducted from or on a residential premises for the purpose of disposing of personal property, including but not limited to all sales entitled "garage," "lawn," "yard," "attic," "porch," "room," "backyard," "patio," "flea market," "estate sales."
B. 
Number of sales permitted. No person or group of persons may conduct, carry on, operate or run on his/her residential premises more than six rummage sales in any calendar year. This includes Citywide garage sales and events. In addition, each sale may not be held for more than three consecutive days and may not be conducted between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
C. 
Sign regulations. Signs advertising rummage sales shall be subject to the following:
(1) 
No signs shall be placed within the area of any public land or right-of-way.
(2) 
Such signs shall not be located on utility poles, sign posts, traffic control devises, public trees or shrubs.
(3) 
All signs, no matter where placed, must be removed within 24 hours of the close of the sale by the owner of the property where the sale was located.
D. 
Penalty. The penalty for violation of this section shall be a penalty as provided in § 265-2 of this Code. Enforcement shall be carried out by the Edgerton Police Department.
A. 
The provisions of §§ 134.65 and 134.66, Wis. Stats., and any amendments thereto are hereby adopted and made a part of this section as well as the license fee required by said § 134.65, Wis. Stats. (See Fee Schedule.)[1]

B. 
The rules, regulations, procedures and penalties as prescribed in §§ 134.65 and 134.66, Wis. Stats., or any amendments thereto shall govern in all proceedings and/or prosecutions by the City for violation of this section.
