There is hereby established in and for the Township of Harmony the position of Deputy 9-1-1 Coordinator of the Township of Harmony who shall be appointed by the Township Committee of the Township of Harmony.
The Deputy 9-1-1 Coordinator shall assist the 9-1-1 Coordinator in representing the Township's interest in providing the necessary information to the Warren County 9-1-1 Coordinator and the Warren County Emergency Communication Committee for the purpose of the implementation of an enhanced 9-1-1 service throughout the county, in conjunction with the Township of Harmony's participation in this statewide implementation of the 9-1-1 enhanced emergency communication system as required by N.J.S.A. 52:17C-1 et seq. The Deputy 9-1-1 Coordinator shall further perform such duties as may be assigned by the 9-1-1 Coordinator or, from time to time, by the Harmony Township Committee and shall have all the powers and duties of the 9-1-1 Coordinator during such times and for such periods the 9-1-1 Coordinator shall be absent or in case of vacancy in the office of the 9-1-1 Coordinator.
The Deputy 9-1-1 Coordinator shall serve for a term of one year from the date of his or her appointment. The initial term shall be for the remainder of the calendar year of such appointment, and, thereafter, each succeeding appointment shall be for a period of one year, to commence on January 1 of the year in which the appointment is made, and shall be subject to appointment annually by the Township Committee on the corresponding day of each year thereafter.
The Deputy 9-1-1 Coordinator shall receive such compensation as shall be provided under an ordinance fixing the salaries of several officers and officials of the Township of Harmony, County of Warren, State of New Jersey, as the same shall be amended or supplemented from time to time.
