There is hereby created the position of Code
Enforcement Officer for the Township of Lacey.

The Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed
by the Township Committee.
The duties of Code Enforcement Officer shall
be as follows:
A. To conduct field inspections and special investigations
to ensure compliance with zoning and various municipal ordinances;
enforce rules and regulations in relation to enforcement of ordinances;
prepare needed reports; assist in the establishment and maintenance
of the records and files; and assist in the promulgation of municipal
ordinances.
B. To perform such duties as delineated in the current
performance agreement on file with the Township Administrator and
as directed by the Township Committee or their designee.

To be appointed to the position of Code Enforcement
Officer, an individual must meet the following requirements. The individual
must:
A. Have the ability to make necessary inspections and
investigations without giving unnecessary offense.
B. Have the ability to take and maintain a firm and correct
stand when controversial matters are considered.
C. Have the ability to prepare clear, sound, accurate
and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
D. Have the ability to establish and maintain needed
records and files.
E. Have the ability to make evaluative judgments based
on the application of statutory or regulatory provisions.
F. Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical
and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the
required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself
or others. Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible
as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after
reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the
accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue
hardship, such person may not be eligible.
