The owner or owners, tenant or tenants of lands
abutting or bordering upon the sidewalks and gutters of the public
streets, avenues and highways in the Township of Saddle Brook shall
remove or cause to be removed from the sidewalks and to the width
of one foot out of the gutter in front or bordering on their said
lands all snow and ice within 12 hours of daylight after the same
shall have formed or fallen thereon.
In case such owner or owners, tenant or tenants
of any land abutting or bordering upon any public street, avenue or
highway in said Township shall neglect or refuse to remove such snow
or ice within 12 hours of daylight after the same shall have fallen
or formed, the Saddle Brook Police Department shall cause a summons
and complaint to issue on the owner or owners, tenant or tenants of
the lands abutting or bordering upon the sidewalks and gutters of
the public streets where said snow or ice has not been removed or
is a violation of this article, which summons and complaint shall
be heard by the Judge sitting in the Municipal Court of the Township
of Saddle Brook.

A. No person shall place or deposit snow or ice, for
the purpose of disposing of same, in or upon any public street, avenue,
highway or roadway of any kind or in or upon any public sidewalk and
walkway.
B. Nothing contained in this §
168-3 shall prevent the temporary deposit of clean sand, salt or other chemical compounds upon any public street, avenue, highway or public sidewalk or walkway or such other public places to enable or provide for the safe use of the same.
C. Any person or persons convicted of violating this
article, or any section thereof, shall pay a fine not less than $50
nor more than $500 or be imprisoned in the county jail for a period
of 30 days.
