A. Intent. It is the intention of the Board of Trustees
in adopting this article to provide for the safety and welfare of
the residents of the Village of Ossining by exercising its rights
pursuant to § 209-m, Subdivision 3, of the General Municipal
Law of the State of New York, to delegate to the Chief of Police the
power to grant and request police assistance to and from other municipalities
in Westchester County.
B. Pursuant to the provisions of § 209-m, Subdivision
3, of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, the Chief
of Police of the Village of Ossining, whenever he or she deems it
to be in the public interest, is hereby authorized to request police
assistance, including personnel, supplies and equipment, from any
other local government in Westchester County, including Westchester
County. The Chief of Police of the Village of Ossining is also hereby
authorized to grant a request for police assistance, including personnel,
supplies and equipment to any other local government in Westchester
County, including Westchester County.
