Pursuant to the provisions of the Village Law, the office of Village Justice be and the same hereby is established to take effect immediately in the Village of Babylon, a municipal corporation, in the Town of Babylon, County of Suffolk and State of New York.

The salary of said Village Justice be and the same hereby is fixed as established in the annual salary resolution, to be paid in equal monthly installments.
Said Village Justice shall, before entering upon the duties of his office, execute to the Village of Babylon and file with the Village Clerk an official undertaking in the sum of $1,000 executed by a surety company authorized to transact business in the State of New York.

There may be appointed an Acting Village Justice of the Village of Babylon aforesaid, and the compensation of said Acting Village Justice be and the same hereby is fixed at the sum, per day for each day necessarily employed by him in the performance of the duties of his office, as is provided for in the annual salary resolution.
Said Acting Village Justice shall, before entering upon the duties of his office, execute to the Village of Babylon and file with the Village Clerk an official undertaking in the sum of $1,000 executed by a surety company authorized to transact business in the State of New York.
The expense of said official undertakings of the Village Justice and Acting Village Justice shall be a charge upon the Village of Babylon.
The Village Clerk shall notify said Village Justice and Acting Village Justice of their respective appointments and the official undertakings required of each of them, as provided by § 3-306 of the Village Law, and such Village Justice and Acting Village Justice shall qualify for their respective offices as provided by § 3-306 of the Village Law.
The Board of Trustees shall provide said Village Justice with suitable books as provided by the Village Law and such other dockets, books, forms and stationery as are necessary for and incidental to the office of Village Justice.
