Smoking is prohibited in all indoor places of employment of Town employees under the jurisdiction and control of the Town of Union, except in areas specifically designated for smoking (see the Town of Union Employee Handbook).
Employees are encouraged to present any concerns to their supervisor and may register a complaint with the Broome County Board of Health Enforcement Officer.
All Town-owned buildings shall be posted with "No Smoking" signs.
Employees found smoking outside of the designated smoking area(s) will be considered in violation of this chapter and may be subject to the penalty prescribed by the Broome County Board of Health Enforcement Officer.
The Human Resources Director shall be designated an agent to assist in the enforcement of this chapter by notifying employees who are in violation.
