The use of tobacco, vaping and other similar tobacco-based products,
including, but not limited to, any such products that either produce
smoke or vapors or is taken or used orally, is prohibited at all parks,
including all indoor and outdoor park facilities, as well as on public
property within 50 feet of any park entrance and within 25 feet of
any park boundary, except as may be otherwise be set forth in any
applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Employees are encouraged to present any concerns
to their supervisor and may register a complaint with the Broome County
Board of Health Enforcement Officer.
All Town-owned buildings shall be posted with
"No Smoking" signs.
Employees found smoking outside of the designated
smoking area(s) will be considered in violation of this chapter and
may be subject to the penalty prescribed by the Broome County Board
of Health Enforcement Officer.
The Human Resources Director shall be designated
an agent to assist in the enforcement of this chapter by notifying
employees who are in violation.
