The Board of Trustees finds that certain classes
of employees of the Village of Westhampton Beach whose positions have
been declared either managerial or confidential by the New York Public
Employment Relations Board or where said positions have been excluded
from bargaining units are nonetheless entitled to receive certain
benefits currently provided to members of bargaining units. This local
law is adopted pursuant to § 92, General Municipal Law,
in order to provide the benefit of payment of accumulated sick leave
at termination.
The incumbents of the following positions shall
be entitled to receive, after five years of continuous full-time active
service, the monetary value of all accumulated unused sick leave at
the time of retirement or separation other than termination for cause
to a maximum of 175 days with the monetary value to be calculated
at the per diem salary rate of the individual at the time of retirement
or separation:
