This article shall be known and may be cited
as the "Life Safety Code."
Pursuant to the authority contained in the Act
of February 1, 1966 (1965 P.L. 1656, No. 581), as amended, Morrisville
Borough hereby enacts this article.
This article is promulgated to protect the public
health, safety and welfare by establishing minimum requirements for
safety to life from fire in buildings and structures.
A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the Secretary of the Borough of Morrisville, being marked and designated as the "NFPA Life Safety Code, 1991 Edition,” as published by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted as the Life Safety Code of the Borough of Morrisville, for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided, and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the Life Safety Code, 1991 Edition, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part thereof, as if fully set out in this Article
IX of this chapter of the Code of the Borough of Morrisville.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate
any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced
to pay a fine of not more than $1,000, together with costs of prosecution,
or to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days. Each day that
a violation of this article continues shall constitute a separate
offense.
