No person shall park a vehicle on any of the streets described in Schedule XXIII (§
288-53) attached to and made a part of this chapter.

A. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:67-16.9, the Chief of Police
is hereby authorized to provide for the temporary closing of any street
or portion thereof to motor vehicle traffic on an emergency basis
for no more than 48 hours, whenever he reasonably finds that such
temporary closing is necessary for the preservation of the public
safety, health or welfare.
B. Any temporary street closure authorized by the Chief of Police in accordance with Subsection
A above shall provide for the posting of proper warning signs of such closing on any street or portion thereof during the time the same is closed.
C. The Township Administrator may authorize the closing
of any street or portion thereof to motor vehicle traffic where same
is necessary for more than 48 hours, whenever he reasonably finds
that such temporary closing is necessary for the preservation of the
public safety, health or welfare; subject to approval of such street
closing by resolution of the Township Council at the first Council
meeting following the Administrator's authorization of such street
closure.
D. Any temporary street closure authorized in accordance with Subsection
C above shall provide for the posting of proper warning signs of such closing on any street or portion thereof during the time the same is closed.
E. Any violation of a street closure established pursuant
to this provision shall be subject to the following violations and
penalties:
(1)
Any person violating or failing to comply with
any other provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof,
be punishable by a fine not to exceed $1,000, by imprisonment not
to exceed 90 days or by community service of not more than 90 days
or any combination of fine, imprisonment and community service, as
determined in the discretion of the Municipal Court Judge. The combination
of such violation for each successive day shall constitute a separate
offense, and the person or persons allowing for permitting the continuation
of the violation may be punished as provided above for each separate
offense.
(2)
The violation of any provisions of this chapter
shall be subject to abatement summarily by a restraining order or
injunction issued by a court of competent jurisdiction.
